Lesson Policies

SCHEDULING

Each student has an assigned weekly lesson block on their teacher’s calendar. That spot is reserved for you each week and no one else will be booked into it. Please give the teacher at least 1 month advance notice if you know you will need to move to another weekly slot due to something changing in your own schedule.

PAYMENT

Students are automatically billed for 4 lessons per month. During months where there is a 5th lesson week, that lesson can be ‘banked’ and used to cover a future missed/cancelled lesson by either the teacher or student, or skipped for that month at the teacher’s discretion or by student request.

LESSON CANCELLATIONS 

Students must provide 24-hours notice if they cannot attend a scheduled lesson. If the student gives less than 24-hours notice, the lesson will be marked as ‘taught’ and no make-up lesson will be provided. This allows us to honor our teacher’s commitment to the schedule and our financial commitment to them since they have reserved that time-slot for that student on that day.

If students cancel with more than 24-hours notice, they may schedule an in-person makeup lesson up to 2 times per semester (Sept-Dec, Jan-June).

If a teacher cannot make it to a lesson, it may be covered by a qualified substitute teacher as scheduled, or it will be rescheduled within a month of cancelation. This allows lessons to continue as scheduled as consistently as possible.

*** Lessons may be moved to Zoom or FaceTime for teacher travel, student travel, Covid, illnesses, or makeup lessons, if both Teacher and Student/Parent agree in advance.

MASKS

Meadowlark follows a “Mask-Matching” policy while teaching: If a student or parent enters a lesson wearing a face-mask, the teacher will wear a mask for the lesson also.  Doors may also be propped open to allow additional ventilation, at student/parent/teacher request.
